I've heard so many great things about Zachary's I had to try it out. I was also taken there for my birthday! I thought the pizza was great, not incredible, but great. I mean, it has a lot to live up to. Ranked as one of the best pizza joints in the US and definitely hailed as one of the top 3 on the west coast. The crust is amazing! The toppings, cheese and sauce are great. I guess what I wasn't all that pleased with is that they put tons of sauce and tomatoes on the pie. It is overkill if you ask me. I would recommend Zachary's to anyone, but I will have to give it 4 stars.

Zachary's deep dish is an east bay classic. I can't tell you if it is authentic Chicago style or not, but I can tell you that it is good. The deep dish features fresh tomatoes piled high on top of layers of cheese and toppings. Two slices will have you stuffed. I highly recommend the sausage and bell pepper pizza with a pint of beer. This place is always crowded, and there is usually a wait, but kick back with a pint of beer and the wait will be worth it.

I'm a recent convert to Zachary's, as I tend to prefer thin crusts. In a way, Z's deep dish pizza is in a class by itself: chunky tomatoes in the excellent sauce, a crust that stands (literally) on its own. I'm a fan of the basic cheese. 2 slices is a meal by itself, and the rest will be remarkably good the next morning--cold or reheated!

I was surprised by the incredible taste and desire to have more at Zachary's. There is something about the crust here that makes it stand above the competition. I highly recco this place to anyone looking to have a good pizza experience

Incredible! This might be the best pizza in the world! It is the best pizza I've had on the west coast. I normally go for thin crust. Zachary's is THICK crust though. They must do something special with the sauce and crust. Every time I go here I leave very satisfied, full and happy. Great service, have beers and fun for a group or a date.

Chunky tomatoes, tons of cheese, and a cornmeal crust that stays crispy. The spinach & mushroom is a classic. I prefer the deep dish, but the thin crust is a tasty treat as well. For a healthier meal try the whole wheat crust. Beware: this place is ALWAYS busy. Be prepared to wait around for a while. Try ordering pick-up either fully baked or half-baked and finish it off at home.
