I'm a pizza freak; chef/Italian-American/lived in Italy/Vegetarian/5-star restaurant/hospitality manager & yogi/meditator. Grew up eating homemade "tomato pies" & foccacia made by my Nana Julia. I make pizza from scratch, and am prepping my ingredients/sauce for tonight's dinner for 40 people. Anyway, Nu Yalk's is one of the world's best basic pizza's I've ever had (I lived in Italy, too!). Crust is outstanding (smell, texture, flavor, crispness). Real big slices available always, not just certain hours and the pizza maker will only allow you to put one item on your slice, though whatever you want on your whole pie. Eaten here 4 time over the last year. Recommended to friends & family. Atmosphere OK, nothing more than a dark college-style sports bar, BUT I GO THERE FOR THE PIZZA! thank you to the family that owns this Reno eatery. The Sign says original goes back to the 70's. And thanks to the no-nonsense pizza maker. Mille Grazie!
