Golden Boy is a San Francisco landmark. You can see Golden Boy from down the street due to its neon red and green finger sign pointing you right to it. This is not your average slice though. They make their pizza on thick focaccia bread. Inside is a long narrow bar where you can sit and have a slice or 2. They only offer a few beers on tap, but they are all great. This place does get really packed on weekend night. There is usually a line out the door and the people here are usually drunk and loud. The sauce and cheese is perfect. I highly recommend Golden Boy to everyone!

My first time eating Golden Boy, I was hungry & trashed. Hungry and trashed to the point that a piece of cardboard with sauce on it would have been appetizing to me. However, all they had left was clam pizza. Who the fuck eats clams on their pizza?? I decided it would be better than nothing and took one bite and gave it to the homeless guy on the street. Flash 3 years later. I was hungry and trashed AGAIN and ordered a normal cheese pizza. They have sort of sicilian style pizza only. Not quite the NY sicilian slice I yearn for from growing up there, but it was good. Nothing great...but good. You be the judge.

One of my favorite places! I normally do not like thick crust, but this place serves their pizza on focaccia bread. Bar seating only. Packed on weekends - lines out the door. But they do have a window where you can order to go. Great beer selection (Prohibition, Red Tail, Red Nectar.) and the service is great - they love hard core music.

Focaccia bread pizza - not something I usually go for, but this place rocks. Great atmosphere - sit at the bar, get a couple beers. Great pizza. This place is legit.

I'd like to meet the person that doesn't rate this place with at least 4 stars. If you can wait until a fresh pie comes right out of the oven so it's piping hot and fresh and you can order one of the corner pieces. *Warning* if you think you're the only one with the brilliant idea to come here after the bars at 2:00...think again! Expect to wait in a 15 minute line for a slice! Totally worth it of course.

I really don't like the crust at this place, although the atmosphere and service are both excellent.
